Policies

Same-Day Visits

We see patients by appointment. For sick visits, it is our policy to see all sick children the same day, if needed. We are never too busy to see a sick child! Please call as early in the day as possible for all sick visits. Well child care exams may be scheduled in advance to accommodate your schedule.

Phone Calls

Our skilled nursing staff is available by phone during office hours. Please leave a message on the appropriate voice mail including your child's name, date of birth, concerning symptoms and a call-back phone number. The nurse will return your call. If you have not received a call back within one hour, please call again. If you have an emergency that cannot wait for a call back, please connect with the receptionist and a medical staff member will speak with you immediately.

If an urgent problem arises after our office has closed, call (513) 563-0044 to access our after-hours number. One of our physicians is always available on-call after hours. Please leave a message with the operator, and include your contact information and your child’s symptoms. The on-call physician will return your call as soon as possible (fee may apply). If your call has not been returned within one hour, please call again as communication problems can occur.

Non-urgent matters should wait until office hours.

Emergencies

If you believe your child has an urgent health problem that requires immediate attention, please call our office at (513) 563-0044 . Notify the receptionist that it is an emergency, and your phone call will be handled immediately. If the problem occurs after-hours, you can reach our after-hours service at (513) 563-0044 . The service will page the physician on-call.

Call 911 in case of a life-threatening emergency or a very serious accident.

  • Skin or lips that look blue, purple or gray

Poisoning

Call the Poison Control Center at (800) 222-1222 at once if your child has swallowed a suspected poison or another person’s medication – even if your child has no signs or symptoms.

  • Patient's name and date of birth
  • Your phone number
  • Your pharmacy’s name and number
  • Medication name, dosage, strength

For prescriptions related to the diagnosis of ADD, please call when your primary doctor-nurse team is typically scheduled to be in the office.

Insurance and Billing

We provide for most major insurance plans, including U.S. military insurance. Some plans require a copay at every visit, others have deductibles (fees are paid in full until a specified dollar amount is reached), and others require a percentage of each fee be paid. Some have all of the above. Some plans limit coverage for certain important office services such as vision, hearing and developmental screenings. It is important to know and understand your insurance policy and financial responsibilities. Our business office staff is happy to help with any questions – just phone us at (513) 563-0044.

New Patients

Prior to your first visit, our New Patient Coordinator will confirm your medical benefits with your insurance carrier. Payment is expected at the time of service for all services not covered by your insurance. New patients, who either do not have insurance or who have insurance for which Liberty Sharonville Pediatrics is not a contracted provider, must pay in full at the time of service – until credit is established.

Prior to your first visit, we’ll need the following information:

  • Medical records from previous medical provider.
  • A copy of your insurance card or cards.
  • Both parent’s full names, date of birth, social security numbers, home address, phone numbers, employer names and phone numbers. Copy of guardianship if applicable. If subscriber of the insurance is not a parent, we need all of the above information for the subscriber.
  • Children’s legal names, dates of birth and home addresses if different from the subscriber of the insurance.

For your convenience, we have placed our patient forms online. Please print and complete all applicable forms and bring them to your first visit.

Affiliated Hospitals

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is our hospital of choice for ill or injured children. A child who’s admitted to CCHMC will be managed by the staff hospitalist, a pediatrician who specializes in management of hospitalized children. As staff pediatricians at CCHMC, we work closely with the hospitalists to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

Newborns

We currently see our newborn babies at:

  • Bethesda North Hospital
  • Christ Hospital
  • Good Samaritan Hospital
  • Mercy Fairfield Hospital

Newborns delivered at other hospitals will be examined by neonatologists or hospital staff physicians.

If your newborn is not seen by one of our physicians, please call our office as soon as possible to arrange for follow-up office visits. In addition, please sign a record release form while still in the hospital, so that we may have all pertinent medical records added to your child’s chart.
